Curator's note

Bishop, created by John Byrne and Whilce Portacio, first appearing in Uncanny X-Men #282 (1991), his design drawing on cavalry and lawman imagery. Born eighty years in the future and raised in a mutant concentration camp after the Summers Rebellion, he can absorb any energy directed at him and release it back at will. He carries an M-shaped brand over his right eye marking him a mutant of his era, and chased the outlaw Trevor Fitzroy back through time into the X-Men's present.
